Mornington Island water supply project
Delivered in partnership by the Australian Government and Queensland Government.
Work has begun on the project to design and construct an upgraded water treatment plant for Mornington Island.
Upgrades include review of raw water infrastructure, improved chemical storage and dosing systems, new filtration, UV treatment, associated pipework and pumps, instrumentation, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to monitor and control the treatment processes.
The project team will consult with all stakeholders throughout the project. They will work closely with the Mornington Island Shire Council and the local community to consider water safety and reliability issues.
